Child Development 12-15 months

Between 12 and 15 months, children are becoming more independent, curious, and active learners. They enjoy exploring their environment, playing in different ways, and practicing new skills.

Parents can support development by encouraging both indoor and outdoor play, talking and listening to their child, and sharing stories and songs to build language and connection. Giving opportunities to learn everyday skills—like using spoons and cups—helps develop coordination and confidence.
